Because climate change affects Kenyan horticulture, it is important to know what the impact on crops will be. That is why we have developed a climate information service for two areas in Kenya. This provides useful information to small-scale farmers, healthcare workers, meteorologists and policymakers. For example, what happens to crops when dry spells increase? Should farmers grow their tomatoes and beans in a different season in the future? Together with JKUAT, WUR and WCDI, CAS co-wrote a policy paper on this.
