Around the world, water managers are noticing the effects of climate change. Floods, drought and a lack of clean water are increasing worldwide. As a result, the demand for water management knowledge and expertise is also increasing. <\/p>\n

The Blue Deal is an international programme of 17 long-term partnerships in 15 countries, including Mozambique. With the Blue Deal, we are developing a climate vulnerability map for the Mozambican water authority ARA-Norte’s catchment area. Mozambican water managers can use the information to determine which problems are urgent and where there are opportunities for climate adaptation. <\/p>\n <\/div>\n

How do we proceed?<\/h3>\n

To create the climate vulnerability map for ARA-Norte’s catchment area, we will first collect existing data and use local knowledge that we will pick up during workshops. At a workshop in November 2023 on climate risks in the area, we will use a draft version of the map. We will then evaluate this with local stakeholders. Based on the feedback we get during the evaluation, we will make a final map after the workshop.<\/p>\n
